Guy is an absolute genius with the white. Love how he never messes about when the balls are there to be knocked in. Beast
This is lovely to to see. I spoke with this gentleman on Facebook i believe or one of his colleagues and also lean of street light billiard academy as id love to open a club like this in the Baltimore area one day
I hope you get it! We would love to come do an episode there!
I’m both a player and a tournament runner for our national body in Australia. We have been on the journey with Isaac, challenging him to build custom formats and he has been just amazing. He gives the best customer service even with our time zone difference challenges. I’m absolutely a fan!
That is awesome to see! He has been amazing to work with in every capacity for us as well. 💯
Thank you Google lol
Congrats on the growth of Digital Pool Isaac! We enjoyed having you on the show. 🤘🔥🤘

Joe, Earl, please make this happen!!!
Every share increasing the chances!
Great video. Interesting hearing from someone who is doing what I've been looking in to for a few years and hopefully making it work. I wish them all the success in the world. Also, that older gent is going to live to about 140!
All of us where amazed to have met him! What an incredible man 👴💪🎱
So no action at the club?
Action is allowed.
One of the best things about this room (I'm a member) is that it's a space built around the game with no compromises. People make comments about the price but I think it makes sense here in the heart of NYC near Herald Square AND it means you're serious about the game if you made that investment. There's no other reason to come here unless you came to play.
What a legend, thanks for this Pete!
Growing up in the 80s and 90s, it seemed like everyone played pool. Then in the 2000's it became kind of a dead sport/hobby. All the pool halls closed down around my area (there were 5 in my small city alone) and now the younger generation doesn't seem to know anything about it. I have a table, and when my kids and stepsons and nephews or whoever come over, they seem to have little interest in learning to play decent.
We were so excited about this episode because it allows us to share the concepts and possibly impact the sport. It's not to late for them to learn it and support it!
@@BilliardSportsNetwork I think it'll come back around. A big reason pool halls shut down is because kids born in the 90s and beyond don't know how to act right in public, and owners got tired of dealing with them. I do think the sport will get popular again before too long. It's too good of a game not to.
A FABULOUS CONCEPT!! Would that there were something similar in my area, SLC, UT. We have nothing in the state that approaches anything as nice as you have established and your monthly dues, in my opinion, are reasonable for your offerings. Best wishes for continued and increased success!
Well said! We are hoping to see more of these spring up everywhere.
This is pretty much a copy of Street Lights Billiards Academy outside of D.C.
Maybe in the business model idea but in execution I'd have to say this is leagues apart.
Eric is exactly right about Gambling it will destroy lifes.
#PlayResponsibly
@BilliardSportsNetwork Not talking about pool so much this legalized sports betting will destroy many people. I used to be a professional poker player by the way not gambling like.pool of skill every sports better I knew threw off big money. Read about Art Shiester played for Ohio State
I hope Monterey- Salinas area in California can get a club like NYC.
🤞Fingers crossed for ya!
How can I get a high resolution image of the picture at 0:46?
Email Earl's manager Diana Hoppe at: poolplayerpics@earthilink.net or visit Earl Strickland.com for more. She sells all kind of memorabilia.
He looks great at 98. We should all be that lucky.
Amen to that 🙏🏼
What in inspiration to us all!!! Insane how perfect this part came up.
Everyone crying in the comments about the price demonstrate why pool is doomed and always has been.
Their waitlist disagrees with that + UA-cam comments reflect much about the real world.
@@BilliardSportsNetwork you missed my point entirely. Cheap pool player mentality is the problem, not this place.
@sonitty I didn't miss it, on any platform, about any topic, the comments section doesnt = what the majority of people think or do in real life only a small fraction. Maybe players will open their eyes to the future of places like this because for anyone whos not playing purely for the social fun of the bar scene, this is the way!
Pool has a tough time because matches are not fun to watch unless you know what you're looking at which most people really don't. So any audience is always limited to the players. It's always going to be a niche sport and btw no producer should ever try to jazz it up because it always looks lame - (with the exception of the Mosconi Cup)
I'm pretty sure they could handle more members. You can have 24 hour memberships, some work hours memberships, and maybe some late night/early morning memberships. Let those members have 8 hours or something during other hours per month.
They probably could squeeze people in but I really like how much priority is on the quality of the experience. They would rather have less members have a perfect experience vs a lot of members with an average experience. Their attention to detail is superb and more pool rooms should take note of this!
It's worth considering, depending on how quiet it gets there overnight or during work hours. Then again, it is in the city that never sleeps, so maybe there are always people using it.
@BilliardSportsNetwork well, he did make it clear that it is not for profit. So, if they aren't losing money, they are doing well. I imagine they need to save up cash for maintenance, though.
Thanks for the interview. I saw this room's website 6 months ago, and was immediately impressed. If I lived in NYC, I would have been first on the member list. The price is also excellent for serious players. I'm also glad they went with Gabriels tables. Their rails bounce perfectly, and not excessively fast. Plus, they look amazing. Good luck to the club!
Glad you enjoyed it! This place is gem and a half!
We need something like this in wisconsin. I am tired of daily fees and won't pay them as much as I used to. Come to milwaukee wisconsin
👆
Beautiful table and facility. I hope this sort of thing pops up where I live in San Diego. Fortunately I have a pretty decent pool hall a mile from my house that has 9 footers and 7 footers and a snooker table. I hope more money keeps entering the sport like the World Pool Championship with a 250k 1st prize pot. This will attract more young players to playing pool. Pool deserves to be televised on TV and made relevant again. There's never been more interest in this sport right now than any time ever since the 90s. It's time to promote and grow the sport again.
Places like this would allow for many more ppl to enjoy the sport at a higher level. I think so many competitors are turned off by the bar scene but would love a facility to play in.
Good video. Great concept. A lot different scene than back in the pool hall days. Clean, updated, top equipment etc. The Real Estate owner of this building don’t need to worry about getting his rent out of the 8th floor or worry about convicting them or going vacant. Not sure about the other floors in the building but I know most people & RE investors have left NY or want to leave NY. Cheers
Much appreciated!
Breaking even at $41K per month. That's some pretty expensive real estate.
It cost a lot of money to renovate and buy equipment in addition to rent cost. Businesses have a lot of tremendous costs in the beginning.
THIS IS THE WAY.
🔥🚀
Great concept, did he say $395 a month?
Website says 295
He said $295, which to me is INSANE.
@@CB_RedBeard417 Prime time pool in Manhattan is $18 an hour, when you can get a table, which is hard because of all of the leagues. Plus the league in the club is cheaper than in the pool hall, with more money going back to the players. Plus all of the equipment is the best around. As a member, I can tell you , this is a great deal.
This is a beautiful facility. We have a private membership pool hall here in Billings, MT. It is called Brothers Billiards. Been open for now for 4 years. 8 -7ft Diamonds, 4-9ft Diamonds, 1 3cushion billiard and 1-12ft snooker table. BYOB, lockers, refrigerators for only $50 a month.
This is NYC... Costs on everything are far more expensive than what you all experience. $295 per month is 15 hours of pool in a pool room in NYC... A huge bargain for serious players.

At 6:58:20 lookslike Efren was in a hurry, he didnt even change his cue. He just used his playing cue as his breaking cue.
I can't believe he never ever mentions his greatest achievment, running 11 racks and winning a million$ ????? Are u kidding me ???? Who else did that wtf , people are hung up on Efren's stupid Z-shot for 40 years and this guy ran 11 racks and won a million$ and no one cares ???? This proofs Efren is all hype people are so delusional if Efren makes a stun shot people lose their minds, if Efren has luck people GO OMG DID U SEE HOW HE CALCULATED EVERY MILLIMETER OF THAT SHOT OMG HE REALLY IS THE GOAT!!!!.
While I agree Joe would bring his fan base and popularity, Jeremy Jones and his ilk are far superior as pool commentators. But as long as Joe is just the color man I'd be in favor of it. Funny how much you have to know about pool to be a good commentator. Joe has a pretty high Fargo rating, for example, but my guess is he'd be terrible as the main commentator. As would I even though I've devoted almost 40 years to the sport.
I've learned so much just understanding what you're doing while you shoot. Thank you watching this has helped my straightpool game.
The guys on commentary talked about how John runs 100 balls in his sleep, then he got 23 and missed, ouch.
Not gonna miss him until he's gone.
Earl loves the game for the game it should be. An enjoyable game! It’s the people and politics that ruin the joy from just the game itself. TY for over 30yrs of great pool Earl ❤
If I didn't see the match with my own eyes I would swear that it was edited. It was amazing..
Love Earl!!!! Him and Efren are the best that's ever been.
He said Larry Neville showed him this
Earl the pearl
Nice Z shot!.. it was planned 👍🎱
Player?
Earl "The Pearl" Strickland
Nice!
Just lost a long time pool league team member to cancer with the same name (Earl). I always called him "Earl the Pearl". This hit hard right now!
Greatest American player . It's not going away
Maybe you miss understood due to a lack of communication skills.... sounds like a old earl rambling 😂... no context just why are you miss understood 😂....
In pool history?
ALL HISTORY
Maybe the second greatest ever
I blame it on the gay mask
